Heavy downpours predicted for more than 24-hours from 3pm today (Mon) warns Met Office

A YELLOW warning for rain in West Berkshire has been issued by the Met Office, hours after it forecast downpours to last late into tomorrow (Tues) afternoon.

The warning follows a weekend of heavy downpours which have flooded roads and left fields waterlogged.
The Met Office predicted this morning that heavy showers would begin mid- to late-afternoon today and would continue into tomorrow evening, while gusts of winds could reach up to 43mph this afternoon.
The Environment Agency has also issued an amber flood alert - warning residents that flooding is possible and to be prepared - for the River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury, including in Ramsbury, Hungerford, Denford, Kintbury and Newbury.
An alert has also been issued for the River Aldbourne and River Shalbourne.
Over the weekend, the severe weather left Northcroft playing fields flooded, as captured in the photographs, right, taken by Barry Stone.
Rising water levels in the River Kennet also flooded gardens in West Mills and caused water to burst from the West Mills weir (photos, Barry Stone).
Have you been affected by the weather conditions?
