Help build a castle for the Queens diamond jubilee
The model castle building forms part of the town council’s jubilee celebrations, which climax with the ‘Picnic in the Park’ in Victoria Park on June 3 - two days before the Queen’s jubilee.
Youngsters are invited to Newbury Town Hall, Market Place, between 10am and noon today to help build a model castle and paint bunting, which will be used during the celebrations in Newbury.
The castle will be fully assembled and have its finishing touches applied at the town’s ‘Picnic in the Park’ event next month.
The model castle activity will also take place at the town hall next Saturday (May 26) between 10am and noon.
The Saturday gallery, displaying art from local artists, will also be running at the town hall as usual both today and next Saturday.
All the artists and photographers who have shown their work over the year have been invited to join a jubilee exhibition at the town hall between 10am and 3pm on June 2 and 10am and 4pm on June 3.
