How to volunteer for a charity in West Berkshire: the V365 Volunteer Recruitment Fair takes place next weekend
More than 50 organisations will be hoping to encourage new helpers at West Berkshire’s largest volunteer recruitment event.
The V365 Volunteer Recruitment Fair is again being hosted at Newbury’s Corn Exchange, on Saturday, January 11, from 10am until 2.30pm.
The free event, which is organised by Volunteer Centre West Berkshire (VCWB), provides residents with “an opportunity to connect with charities and community initiatives seeking passionate individuals who want to make a positive impact”.
The organisations that will be at V365 range from charities supporting those with disabilities, to environmental groups and wellbeing and youth schemes.
Anyone who goes along will be able to meet representatives from these organisations, learn about volunteer roles available and discover ways to use their time and skills to benefit the community.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of our local community organisations,” said Rachel Peters, CEO of VCWB.
“This event is about matching people’s unique skills and interests with meaningful opportunities that create real change.”
VCWB said that research shows individuals who dedicate their time to helping others report greater life satisfaction and a stronger sense of purpose.
It added: “Whether you’re a student looking to boost your CV, a professional wanting to give back, or a retiree eager to stay active, V365 has something for everyone.
“V365 isn’t just an event - it’s a chance to be part of something bigger than yourself.
“Whether you can offer a few hours a month or dedicate your weekends, there’s a need you can fill.
“Let’s start the new year by coming together as a community to inspire hope, build connections, and transform lives.”
