Highclere Castle hosts 12th Battle Proms picnic concert
Likely to be a sell-out again this year, according to organisers JSL Productions, donations and part of the profits from the concert, to be held in the grounds of Highclere Castle, will be in aid of the charity Combat Stress, the mental welfare society that specialises in helping veterans of the armed forces and merchant navy with psychological injuries caused through service to their country.
The two-hour programme of classical music, performed by the New English Concert Orchestra, will include all the flag-waving favourites, with solos led by soprano, Denise Leigh, and an aerial display from a Second World WarSpitfire, more than 200 live cannons, mounted Napoleonic skill-at-arms displays and a spectacular fireworks finale.
