Highclere Castle launches its inaugural book readers’ awards
Highclere Castle has launched its inaugural book readers’ awards, which will recognise booklovers for their reviewing skills.
Entries to the awards open from Monday, June 19 and they will provide an opportunity for booklovers to review a book which has “captivated, enchanted or inspired them”.
The book review can be of a newly-published novel, a non-fiction title or a renowned classic, but it must fit in to one of the five listed categories which are travel, biography, history, novel and children’s book.
The winner of each category will win £500, with the five runners-up each taking home £100. There will also be a £500 prize for the best review from an under-16 entrant.
Submissions must be between 500 and 700 words and entries will be judged by a panel of authors and journalists chaired by The Countess of Carnarvon.
More information about entering can be found at http://rb.gy/v3nqu
Entries close on September 6 and the winners will be announced at a special reception in October.
