Highclere's day of theatre




Highclere is being treated to a day of theatre tomorrow (Saturday), when local professional actors Daniel Creasey and Yvie Magee bring their FalconGrange productions to the Village Hall. The Lion & The Mouse, at 2.30pm, is an Aesop’s fable adapted for the stage for 2-8 year olds. join Claude, the lazy lion and Baba, the mischievous mouse, as they learn even the most different of creatures can be the greatest of friends. This exciting 45-minute adventure is packed with laughter, songs, live music and audience participation (tickets £6). Then, in the evening (7.30pm) a comedy for adults: Men of The World is a wickedly observant play by John Godber, one of Britain's most popular playwrights and the author of Teechers and Lucky Sods. Men Of The World follows three coach drivers - Frank, Stick and Larry who are taking passengers on a ‘mystery trip’ to Scarborough. Just three actors seamlessly portray an assortment of 18 characters including the drivers and eccentric passengers. As the journey continues we learn about their hopes and fears, loves and hates in this touching, hilarious, bittersweet play (tickets £10).
