Historic site for classic car meet

More than 1,000 vehicles parked up at the former GAMA site for the annual spring meet and autojumble sale, which saw a wide selection of cars, motorbikes and commercial vehicles from more than 25 car clubs were on display in front of the old NATO missile bunkers.
A selection of military vehicles were also on show.
Pulling in the crowds was a custom-built motorcycle which can reach speeds of over 200mph thanks to its powerful Viper V10 engine, along with a trike powered by a Mustang V8 engine.
Organisers, Dave and Jennie Palmer, were forced to postpone the event at Wyke Down near Andover, which had been scheduled for Easter Monday, owing to bad weather and said that the dry weather and firm ground had made a pleasant change.
Despite the changed date, producing a clash with other motor shows, the event attracted hundreds of visitors and support from members from the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Club, Baskingstoke Classic Car Club, Mustang Owners of GB and the American Automobile Enthusiasts Club.
The couple said that they were interested in using the site for future events.
