Hole in one for Downs School’s open day fundraiser

The Downs School, Compton celebrated its open day at the weekend — with a twist.

This year, younger and less experienced players took part in nine holes of golf at Donnington Valley Golf Club, helping to raise valuable funds for the school’s PE department.

The event took place on Saturday (April 22) and company director at MB Golf Shop, Martin Balfour, presented prizes to winning teams.

The school had nine teams playing, with seven playing the nine hole short game.

And Mr Balfour’s shop donated a selection of prizes for the winning teams completing 18 holes.
