A man who tried to steal a charity box from a West Berkshire church was foiled by a member of the public.
The 36-year-old, from Calcot, was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft from the Church of St Deny’s, Cock Lane in Standford Dingley.
Police were called to the church by a member of the public at 5pm on Tuesday, August 4 and officers arrested a man who matched the description provided on their way to the scene.
The man has been released on police bail until September 4.
