Lucky escape at two-car Cold Ash collision

Incident forces road closure

Those involved in a two car Cold Ash collision this morning (Wednesday) and which forced a road closure, had a lucky escape.

Two fire engines from Newbury Fire Station were called at 6.44am, to the junction of the Ridge and Lawrence's Lane, where two cars were involved in what firefighters at the scene described as a fairly severe impact collision.

Those involved suffered minor injuries, according to firefighters, who put this down to the use of seatbelts and deployment of air bags in the vehicles.

Ambulance and police were also at the scene.

The road was closed during the incident.

Firefighters left at 7.15am.
