The country may have only just enjoyed the hottest day of the year so far last week but all of that is set to change after the Met Office issued a weather warning ahead of a 24-hour downpour.

Forecasters issued a yellow warning of rain covering most of the south of England and Wales early this morning (Tuesday).

The warning is in effect for the whole of West Berkshire from 9am today until 9am tomorrow morning.

The yellow warning – meaning be aware, states that there is expected to be outbreaks of heavy rain well into Tuesday with thundery showers into the afternoon and evening, possibly lasting overnight.

The Met Office said: “Please be aware of possible localised surface water flooding where the heaviest rain occurs.”

Forecasters added that in some areas there was the potential for more than 25mm of rainfall in a short space of time with a risk of surface water flooding.

Leave it to the experts, because what I am looking at right now out of the window is a massive downpour, just what they forecast.
