THE A4 near Woolhampton was closed this afternoon (Tuesday), with four fire engines at the scene, after two lorries and a car were involved in a collision.
One fire engine from Newbury, and three more, including two from Reading, one carrying special equipment and another from Tadley, were called at 3pm, to the A4 at the junction of Frouds Lane.
On arrival, firefighters found all three occupants of a light blue Mazda car had got out of the vehicle, described as ‘walking wounded’.
Firefighters administered First Aid until paramedics arrived and all three were then taken to hospital by ambulance.
Both lorry drivers were unhurt and after one lorry ended up on an embankment.
The car remained on all four wheels and firefighters made the vehicle safe.
One lane of the A4 was re-opened after 40 minutes and firefighters left the scene at 4pm.
