FIREFIGHTERS were called to a car blaze in the early hours today (Sunday).

The incident, involving a Vauxhall Corsa in Hutton Close, Newbury, was reported at 4am.

Manager of Green Watch at Newbury Fire Station, Richard Young, said: "It was well alight. The cause is unknown at this stage."

Firefighters using breathing apparatus used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

It took almost an hour to fully extinguish the fire and make the scene safe.
