Tom Hardy stops off for coffee in Thatcham

MOVIE superstar Tom Hardy was in Thatcham this morning (Wednesday).

Hardy, the star of films including Mad Max: Fury Road, Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and The Revenant, called in for coffee at the town's Costa.

Shift supervisor Rhea Curtis said: "We were all quite a bit starstruck, we went out and got autographs and pictures with him.

"I think we're all fans of his here."

She said that Hardy sat in the store with someone she assumed was a friend and then left after about an hour, but Hardy didn't say why he was in the town.

Vickie Davies sent NewburyToday a picture of her daughter Charlie with Hardy and said: "He was a real gentleman. Signed autographs and did lots of fan selfies."

People have taken to Twitter about the star's appearance in the town.
