POLICE were called on Monday (27/3) to a fear for welfare incident in Newbury.

Thames Valley Police confirmed police were called at 5.01pm to reports of a fear for welfare of a woman on a bridge over the A339, Newbury.

Emergency services attended and road closures were in place.

The incident was safely concluded shortly after 5.10pm and the woman was brought to safety.
