Dingley’s Promise boosted by £15,000 clay pigeon shoot fundraiser by David Wilson Homes
A Hungerford-based housebuilder has raised more than £15,000 for a Berkshire children’s charity.
David Wilson Homes hosted a sunny day of clay pigeon shooting, food and fundraising.
The event took place at Barbury Shooting School in Wiltshire in aid of Dingley’s Promise – a charity delivering life-changing nursery education and support for children under five with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
A total of 17 teams took part in the shoot, made up of David Wilson Homes employees, contractors and partners, with around 75 people attending throughout the day.
The shoot began with bacon sandwiches and coffee before a warm welcome from David Wilson Homes Southern’s managing director Campbell Gregg.
The day raised a total of £15,820 to help Dingley’s Promise continue its mission of supporting SEND children and their families across Berkshire.
The charity’s chief executive, Catherine McLeod, said afterwards: “We’re incredibly grateful to David Wilson Homes and everyone who took part in the clay shoot for their generosity and enthusiasm.
“The funds raised will help us reach even more children with special educational needs and disabilities.
“The funds will be directed to offer tailored support to children in the early years who need it most, giving them the opportunity to reach their potential.
“Events like this don’t just raise money, they raise awareness of inclusion and the need to ensure equal opportunities for every child to learn and develop.”
