Prove your Covid vaccination status on the NHS app from next week
FROM next week you will be able to prove your vaccination status on the NHS app.
A post on the Newbury Vaccination Centre Facebook page confirmed the news and appealed to residents to use the app and not contact their GP's surgery to try to gain evidence of a vaccine.
In the post it said: "From the 17th May you will be able to demonstrate your vaccine status on the NHS App. The NHS App is free to download and checks your identity virtually, saving you a trip to the surgery.
"For help setting up, please visit NHS App help support - NHS (www.nhs.uk). If you do not have a smart phone or are unable to use the NHS App you can request your vaccination status in paper form by calling 119 - PLEASE DO NOT CALL your surgery as they are unable to provide this information for you. Thank You."
You can find out more about downloading the app here.
In a further post today the centre also urged anyone who has not yet had their second Pfizer vaccination to call their GP to book an appointment this week.
The notice was aimed at any patients who had a Pfizer vaccine at the Newbury centre between February 15 and March 1 and haven't yet been able to book their second appointment.
The racecourse hub will not be offering any further Pfizer vaccinations after this week, it confirmed on Friday.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, is expected to give the go-ahead for further relaxations of the lockdown rules in England later today (Monday).
