Hundreds at fun-packed Christmas Day run on Greenham Common

The parkrun’s Christmas Day event saw 221 runners complete the 5km course, many in fancy dress, including two- and four-legged runners.
The first man to complete the course was Peter Crisp; the first woman over the line was Sophie Crumly and the race director was Andy Tucker.
Staffed by volunteers, and free to all entrants, parkrun is a weekly timed run at 9am every Saturday, open to all ages and abilities.
The next event is a special New Year’s Day run, which will set off from Greenham Common at the slightly later time of 10.30am.
Entrants need to download an online barcode before arriving at the start of the run – full details are at www.parkrun.org.uk/newbury/
