Pangbourne Rotary Club's Woodcote charity run raises over £4,000

Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of runners completed the tough 10k run at Pangbourne.

Around 325 runners took part on Sunday, January 8, raising a total of £4,200 for charity.

"It's always pleasing to get positive feedback from our runners, complimenting us on such a well-organised event," said race organiser Jerry Wilson.

The proceeds are being split between Bloodbikes, which transfers emergency blood supplies and other medical products between NHS establishments, the Purley Park Trust, a charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, and Pangbourne Rotary Club's own charitable fund which supports various causes, including Readifood and international disaster relief.

In response to the sum raised, Mr Wilson added: "This is all the encouragement we need to redo it again. Next year's event will be on January 7, 2024."

The club thanked Warmingham Estate Agents and Peppard Building Supplies for their sponsorship and support.
