Hundreds in Newbury area still without power on Christmas Day

Southern Electric has issued a further statement today (Christmas Day) confirming engineers had been working overnight into Christmas Day to restore power to those whose traditional turkey dinner was off the menu, due to the loss of power.
The company has received over 3,000 calls today, with 50 staff taking calls and providing help to vulnerable customers, mobile generators and offers to reimburse the cost of hot meals to customers still without power today.
