Hundreds of properties without power in Thatcham this evening (Fri)





The power went out at around 6.30pm and properties affected include those in and around the Kennet Heath Estate, Floral Way and Dunstan Park.
Newbury Today has also been told that homes in Upper Bucklebury close to the Cottage Inn are without power this evening and the lights are flickering in Colthrop and Frilsham.
Homes in Bishops Green and Chieveley are also reported to be without power.
A tree and a lamp post are reported to have been blown over at Herons Way, leading into Kestrel Close, Thatcham, leaving people unable to enter or exit the road.
Tress are also said to have fallen on the Burys Bank Road in Greenham and close to Thatcham railway station before the Burys Bank Road turn off.
Reading Buses have Tweeted that Jet Black 1 services will be unable to serve Falmouth Way, Thatcham, owing to a fallen tree and will stay on the A4 instead.

On the rails, due to disruption across the entire First Great Western network the company is advising people not to travel until further notice.
The disruption comes on the back of an amber weather warning for wind in West Berkshire this evening, which the Met Office has said is in place until noon tomorrow (Saturday).
A yellow warning for rain has also been issued until 8pm tomorrow and the Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for the River Pang for Frilsham, Stanford Dingley and Bradfield.
The agency says that some isolated property flooding is possible, especially in the Stanford Dingley area.
