Hungerford: election result





He is the Conservative candidate James Podger.
However, the Tory majority was cut from 338 votes in 2011 to 59 votes.
The results, announced just before 11pm, are as follows: Denise Gaines (Lib Dem), 751 votes; James Podger (Con), 810 votes; Gary Puffett (Lab) 86 votes; Andrew Stott (United People's Party), 28 votes.
The turnout at the by-election, triggered by the untimely death of Davuid Holtby (Con) was 38.2 per cent. The electorate was 4,420.
