Hungerford Rugby Club to appear live on BT Sport today (Sun)

HUNGERFORD ‘Hurricane’ Rugby Club will be in front of the cameras today after being selected to appear live on BT Sport.
The players will be at BT Sport’s studios in Stratford ready for the 1pm live broadcast, during which they will demo game plays, tactics, moves and law interpretation before the game and at half time.
The players will be wearing their new home and away strips, which include the initials ‘DW’ - a tribute to former team-member Dave Woodroffe, 20, who was tragically killed in a car accident in July.
Team manager Rich Lovelock said: “Everything we do this season, including this Sunday, is a tribute to Dave.”
Their chance to be on television came about when head coach Dave Smith’s partner Caroline Coombs saw an invitation to apply and tweeted BT Sport, who replied immediately to confirm .
She said: “I’m very pleased smaller clubs like the Hungerford Hurricane are get opportunities to be on the Big Screen.
“It’s a great advert for a local club and for grassroots rugby as a whole.”
