Hungerford to host controversial Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion guru Roger Hallam
Hungerford is preparing to host the co-creator of controversial environmental groups Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion.
Roger Hallam, who has advocated global revolution, is scheduled to give a talk in the town on Tuesday.
Mr Hallam, who is primarily known for his activism, also penned a tract in which he exhorted today's youth to "rise up" and to "bring down the world's governments", adding that: "You will only be successful when you break the rules and break the laws...action that does not break the law produces nothing... when they are screaming in horror, you will know you are on the road to victory."
The document, entitled Advice to Young People as You Face Annihilation, warns today's youngsters that social collapse is imminent and will lead to rape and "war in every city, every neighbourhood, every street".
It goes on: "This is what's going to happen to your generation... the loss of all your dreams and being dragged off to be slaughtered.
"[Gangs] will see your mother, your sister, your girlfriend, and they will gang rape her on the kitchen table... they will take a cigarette lighter and burn your eyes out with it."
Mr Hallam claims that those in charge of today's society are knowingly committing "the greatest crime in the history of the human race," adding: "Their plan is to do nothing less than kill you... you need to rebel... spray paint the walls and halls".
He warns youngsters that "your death is being planned" and urges 21-day hunger strikes while telling school pupils to stay home because "only when you are being dragged out of your homes to go to school... will politicians act".
Just Stop Oil protesters have made national headlines by glueing themselves to roads, tankers and infrastucture before expanding to disrupting sport fixtures, vandalising artwork and public institutions.
HEAT has advertised the event as a Just Stop Oil talk by "award-winning social scientist and co-founder of Just Stop Oil and Extinction Rebellion, Roger Hallam".
The event is scheduled to take place in the Hungerford Hub in the Church Street library building
It is a free event but organisers ask anyone wishing to attend to register at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/our-responsibilities-at-this-time-with-roger-hallam-hungerford-tickets-406697141097?aff=eand
