Hungerford's Tally Ho! applies for alcohol licence in relaunch plans

The application seeks permission for indoor sporting events and rtecorded music between midday and 12.30am; performance of dance between midday and midnight; late night refreshments between 11pm and 12.30am and supply of alcohol between 11am and 12.30am.
Meanwhile, renovation and restoration work continues for the former village pub which was sold to would-be developers by brewery owner Wadworths.
Planning permission to turn it into homes was refused and, after a convoluted battle, a villagers’ consortium bought it back.
They now aim to reopen the village pub as a community hub featuring local beers and produce.
Longer term plans include installing a micro brewery, providing bed and breakfast and opening a community shop.
Hungerford Town Council’s environment and planning committee has been due to discuss the licence application.
