I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, I Do, at Shaw House
The grounds of the historic Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion attracted around 120 people to a showing of the film Mama Mia!.
“There was dancing in the aisles,” said Shaw House manager Nik Stewart. “Everyone was very happy and enjoying themselves.”
Young and old alike enjoyed the evening showing of the film, which followed an afternoon of picnicking on the lawns in fine weather, complete with a barbecue and Pimms tent.
For anyone who missed out on the fun, an outdoor showing of the film Dirty Dancing follows on August 16, then the triple Oscar-winning film Les Misérables, on September 13.
Open air drama has also been programmed for the summer, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream (July 3, 4, 5) and Robin Hood (August 31).
The Shaw House summer fair returns on Sunday, July 20, from 11am to 4.30pm, with attractions including live music, barbecue, Pimms tent, magician, go-carts, tea-cup rides and craft stalls.
Entries are invited for a garden themed competition. For more information, telephone Shaw House on (01635) 279279.
