"Iconic" red phone box to be adopted by Bucklebury
The phone box outside the Bladebone Inn, Chapel Row, will become somewhere people can swap novels from today (Sunday), following an opening ceremony at 4pm.
Due to appear is local composer Daniel Nichols, who has written a song to be performed by his choir.
Mr Nichols gave music lessons to the Duchess of Cambridge when she was 11 years old, and also wrote a song to mark her marriage to Prince William.
The chairwoman of Bucklebury Parish Council, Wynne Frankum, said that villagers had decorated the phone box with a timeline of Bucklebury events from the middle ages to last year’s royal wedding celebration.
After the bunting is cut, tea and cake will be served.
