Female driver taken to hospital last night (Friday) after car skids off road in icy conditions

A DRIVER was taken to hospital with neck injuries last night (Friday) after her car skidded off the road and slid down a bank in Tilehurst.

Dee Road fire station was called to the incident at 6.30pm in Starlings Drive after reports a car had left the road.

The car, a silver Honda Civic, had slid down a bank near Magpie Way and crashed into Starlings Drive.

The female driver was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading for treatment to a neck injury.

Temperatures plummeted to minus eight in some areas of West Berkshire last night and today the Met Office has issued another warning for snow, expected to begin falling later this afternoon with temperatures unlikely to rise far above freezing.
