Kelly Bazzichi was diagnosed with the rare condition, A-HUS, in 2011 but got a place on a clinical trial for a drug called Eculizumab, which she says has given her her life back.
This drug is now under threat though.
In other news bomb disposal experts nearly had a fit when they discovered an ornament on a mantelpiece was....a live bomb.
The First World War anti tank shell had been gathering dust in Robert Grey's Brimpton home - and could have detonated at any time.
He said: "I'd no idea - I had even let my dogs play with it!"
Also this week, Newbury canoeists have been left up a creek without a paddle after trees suspending slalom poles at Lock Hill were cut down without their knowledge.
The trees were felled by the Environment Agency and the discovery has left members feeling surprised and frustrated as the site was perfect for slalom training.
Meanwhile people in West Berkshire have been doing their bit for Comic Relief over the past week.
