The council has revealed it wants the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust to take over the management of ten sites.
Also this week, residents are demanding that action be taken after a massive compost heap, which has been smouldering since November, re-ignited again last week billowing smoke over houses and gardens.
Residents in Beenham and Padworth and the parish council, which have been living with smoke engulfing their homes from a huge compost heap at the Grundon recycling site, have now insisted that the agencies involved "get their acts together"
In other news, a defiant Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) has accused critics of a political smear campaign over claims he established a “sham” office in Hungerford to boost his expenses.
Anthony Stansfeld, who was elected to the £85,000 per year Thames Valley PCC role last November, also defended his decision to employ an extra assistant at nearly £20,000 per year to chauffeur him to meetings, take notes and help organise his day.
Meanwhile, revised plans for the redevelopment of the much-loved Greenacre Leisure Centre have once again failed to find support from club members and local councils, who claim the plans still fall short of requirements.
For the second time this year, Newbury Town Council has lodged objections to the development while more than 115 letters of objection have flooded into West Berkshire Council, despite the new plans consisting of squash courts and more tennis courts than the original plans.
