In this week's Newbury Weekly News

The news has prompted a mixed reaction, with locals angered at an increase in HGVs travelling through the village, while others see it as a welcome boost to the economy.
Also this week, bovine tuberculosis is ravaging cattle in West Berkshire.
The region had previously been free of the disease but cases have now been confirmed in the Lambourn Valley and on Greenham Common.
Newbury MP, Richard, Benyon, said it would be "criminal" for the Government to ignore the situation.
In other news, a number of people across the area have been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honour's List.
Among the bestowed is the Headteacher of the Avenue School Special Needs Academy in Tilehurst, Susan Bourne, who has been made a Dame.
Elsewhere, angry plot holders at Speen allotments are contesting a 125-strong housing development which could see their plots moved 30 metres from the A34, claiming their crops will be polluted and certain members will be forced to abandon their plots as will be unable to travel to the new site.
Meanwhile, Newbury have had yet another celebrity visitor – former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian, who is favourite to replace Jose Mourinho as the next Real Madrid manager, was spotted tucking into a chicken burger at Nando’s in the Kennet Centre, much to the surprise of lifelong Chelsea fan Toby Kacary, who was dining with friends.
As always, there’s also a roundup of the week’s entertainment and sport, and of course this week’s £25 free fuel giveaway.
All this plus more in the Newbury Weekly News, on sale every Thursday.
