Also this week, after years of battling Crohn’s Disease which forced her to have essential, life-changing surgery, a Newbury woman has launched on online blog to tell her story help break the stigma of bowel diseases.
Gabi Cox had to move back home, was often reliant on a wheelchair and must now wear an ostomy pouch for the foreseeable future, but she is determined to show other sufferers that it has not stopped her enjoying life to the full, and her blog, Gift of the Gab, has already clocked 26,000 readers.
In other news, a former West Berkshire Ofsted inspector and ex-acting head of John O’Gaunt School has been arrested over an alleged fraud.
Sixty-three-year-old Tim Royle, of Newbury, has also lectured at Newbury College and sat on advisory groups for premieres Gordon Brown and David Cameron.
