The first roads to have Pay By Phone only charging will be Newtown Road (north of St John’s Road), the Old Bath Road (south side), Faraday Road, Ampere Road, Fleming Road, Marconi Road and Kelvin Road.

Elsewhere, four MBE’s and a CBE were awarded locally in the 2014 Queen’s Birthday Honours – including an MBE for a retired Newbury GP – and only a week after a Mortimer Community Group learnt it had achieved a South East Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
