In this week's Newbury Weekly News

The latest occured on Sunday when three vechiles were set alight in the early hours of the morning. It's the second time that a Hungerford cab driver and builder have been victims.
In other news, the chief executive of Thatcham-based Amputees in Action was blasted by a judge at London’s High Court last week after losing a legal battle with former friends over who founded the organisation.
The judge took the side of claimants Tony Tomlinson and Olaf Jones, and said that CEO John Pickup who is from Newbury had “jealously and selfishly” guarded his own financial interests, harming those of his friends and partners by not making the others formal partners in the business which provides amputee film extras.
Also this week, therapy services for children with special needs is under threat across the district as West Berkshire Council looks to slash its Education Service Budget by a tenth.
The council needs to make savings of £1.1 million from the budget which totals £11million and according to officers speech and language therapy and occupational therapy services are likely targets for closure.
The Council has also expressed its concerns about designs for a bridge to replace the Ufton Nervet level crossing.
Last month the rail giant shared its pre-planning application document, which included the initial designs for the bridge, with council planning officers.
However, last week the council said that it felt current designs would make it unsafe for drivers.
Elsewhere, Thatcham got into the festive spirit when it turned on its Christmas lights last Friday and 200 hundred jolly joggers set off on the town's second Santa Dash.

Our coverage commemorating the outbreak of the Fiurst World War continues, this week focusing on the stories of local men who fought at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in March 1915.
