In this week's Newbury Weekly News......

IN this week’s Newbury Weekly News, West Berkshire Council’s full package of £17.5m cuts has been voted through – but the bad news is there’s still more to come.

The repercussions are being felt immediately, with two of Newbury’s public toilets and the town’s Visitor Information Centre closing permanently from tonight (Thursday).

In other news, a West Berkshire councillor who received numerous court summons for failing to pay his council tax has been named.

Also this week, two Thatcham veterans have been awarded France's highest honour for their actions on D-Day.

Meanwhile, an annual report has raised concerns over the health and wellbeing of children in care across West Berkshire.

In this week’s Hungerford edition of the Newbury Weekly News, Lambourn basked in the Good Friday sun on it's big day; the Betfair Open Day.

In Thatcham this week, objections have started flying in over more homes for the town.

And on the Hampshire pages, Highclere villagers turned out in force last Tuesday evening to show their solid opposition to a proposed large housing development on a greenfield site in the village.

As always, there’s also a roundup of the week’s entertainment and sport, and of course this week’s £25 free fuel giveaway.
