In this week's NWN, personal debt is soaring as more and more people turn to pay-day lenders and doorstep loan firms to get themselves out of trouble.
West Berkshire Citizens Advice Bureau has reported a 50% hike in the amount of debt carried by its clients, expecting it to smash the £8 million barrier before the end of the financial year, up from £5.42 million in the last financial year.
A lottery ticket purchased in West Berkshire more than two weeks ago has made someone a millionaire, but they don't know about it yet as the prize money has still not been claimed.
