Cheap Street in Newbury blocked in incident attended by multiple police cars and fire engines




Early on Sunday morning, a stretch of Newbury was blocked off by emergency service workers as they attended an incident in the area.

Around 3.15am, a large number of police vehicles and fire engines were sighted along Cheap Street, which was blocked off between the Sainsbury's roundabout and the Vue Cinema.

Little specific information is available at this stage, although the event caused significant disruption.

Cheap Street is now clear, and no emergency service units are present in the area.

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police have been approached for comment.
