Independent school flooded in Newbury

Firefighters bale out several floors

FIREFIGHTERS baled out an independent school in Newbury last night (Saturday) following a plant failure.

Two pumps from Newbury Fire Station were called at 10.40pm, to Newbury Hall School, in Enborne Road, where several floors of a building were under an inch of water, after plant failed in a loft area at the school.

Firefighters isolated the water supply and used special vacuums to remove the water.

Firefighters left the scene around midnight.
