‘Intoxicated’ Corrie Black from Newbury crashed stolen car into a pylon before overturning in ditch in Chapel Row
AN intoxicated woman drove a stolen car dangerously, crashing it into a pylon before overturning in a ditch.
To make matters even worse, the 20-year-old was using a false registration at the time, Reading magistrates heard on Tuesday, August 20.
In the dock was Corrie Black of Elizabeth Avenue, Newbury.
Black admitted driving a Fiat Abarth 500 dangerously on Hatch Lane, Chapel Row.
She further admitted fraudulently using a false licence plate.
Finally, Black admitted an offence of aggravated vehicle taking.
Specifically, the charge states that, knowing the vehicle had been unlawfully taken without the owner’s consent, she drove it while uninsured and intoxicated, crashing it into a BT pylon then overturning it in a ditch.
All the above offences were committed on December 23, 2022.
Magistrates told Black, who was legally represented by Gianpaolo Damiani, that they considered their own powers of punishment could be insufficient.
They therefore sent the case for sentencing by a judge sitting at Reading Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
Black was meanwhile released on unconditional bail.
