Introducing Thatcham’s latest plastic-free champion Vanillo Bakery
Thatcham’s latest plastic-free champion is Vanillo Bakery.
The bakery has been removing single-use plastics from it business.
As a result, it has been awarded bronze plastic-free champion status from Eco-Friends West Berkshire.
The scheme, called Plastic Free Communities, is run by marine conservation charity Surfers Against Sewage.
It involves rallying up schools, businesses, councillors and community allies to make environmental changes.
This would entail showing where they have removed or not used three items of single use plastic.
Vanillo is now packaging its cookies in paper bags or cardboard boxes.
It is also offering customers the option to bring their own container to transport their treats.
Its stickers are plastic free and staff are using reusable water bottles when working.
Eco-Friends West Berkshire is on a mission to make the district a greener place and is always on the lookout for new plastic-free champions.
