Sub89's coup brings Ash back to Reading later in the month

IRISH rockers Ash have confirmed a late notice show at Reading's Sub89 at the end of the month.

The band will return to Reading for the first time since playing Reading festival in 2007 where the band headlined the packed Radio 1 / NME tent to nearly 20,000 people.

This time they will be playing at a venue with a capacity of just 600.

The band recently played an A-Z tour of the Uk taking in everywhere from Aldershot to the village of Zennor in Cornwall, showcasing material of career that started more 19 years ago and has seen them sell more than eight million albums worldwide.

Recent shows have won rave reviews from fans and peers alike and they will be performing a similar greatest hits style set when they play Sub89 in November.

Concert promoter for Intertain, the venue's operating company, Michael Jones, said: “Bringing Ash back to Reading is another big coup for the town and continues to go some way into really establishing Reading as a must-stop town for touring acts.

“Having not seen this band since I was 13 I'm genuinely very excited to see a band I grew up listening to play on our own Sub89 stage.”

The gig takes place at the Friar Street venue on Wednesday, November 30 from 7.30pm.

Tickets for Ash are priced at £16.50 in advance and are available from SUB89 at www.sub89.com, Seetickets at www.seetickets.com or from Urban Piercings, Reading on (0118) 950 2414.
