A report by Thames Tap – part of the UK Property Forums website – suggested the retailer was close to signing a deal.
It said that the fashion outlet would be taking the flagship, but now vacant, Debenhams store in Parkway Shopping.
The Debenhams store closed for the last time on Sunday, May 2, this year.
Parkway Shopping declined to comment on the rumours.
Earlier this month Primark outlined its intentions to open 100 new stores worldwide over the next five years.
Next, HMV and Isabel's Retro have all opened in Parkway Shopping centre this year.
Luna Boutiques has also moved to a larger store, while La'De Kitchen – a Mediterranean restaurant specialising in Turkish, Greek and Italian food – also opened its doors for the first time this summer.
However, this week it was also confirmed that Mint Velvet will be closing its store in the shopping centre at the end of the year.
The fashion retailer will be relocating to a concession inside Camp Hopson on Northbrook Street.
Costa Coffee's Parkway Shopping branch also closed earlier this year.
