Inspectors visited the school in June and praised its “ambitious and inclusive curriculum”, which it said ensured all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), achieve well.

Headteacher Beulah Letchford spoke of her pride in the school’s progress.

“This report reflects the dedication of our staff, the enthusiasm of our pupils, and the support of our families,” she said.

“We are thrilled that Ofsted recognises the quality of education and the positive culture we’ve built together.”

Chair of governors Peter Burroughs added: “We are delighted with the outcome of this inspection.

“It affirms the strategic direction we’ve taken and the hard work of everyone involved in the school community.”

The report said pupils “benefit from an ambitious curriculum, which is designed for all to succeed”.

It added: “Pupils feel they are listened to by staff. They know where they can go for support. This makes them feel safe.

“Pupils are proud of their achievements in an out of the classroom. Pupils behave well in lessons, where they know and follow the school’s ‘golden rules’.”

Inspectors also highlighted the school’s strong values of respect, determination, collaboration, responsibility, and curiosity, which it said were embedded in daily life and contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.

The report commended the school’s focus on reading, noting that pupils begin phonics instruction early and receive tailored support to ensure age-appropriate reading levels.

Inspectors did note that “in a few subjects, the activity choices do not provide the opportunity to apply the knowledge pupils have learned”.

“This means that some pupils do not secure a deeper understanding,” the report added. “The school should continue to embed the strategies across the curriculum, which will enable pupils to deepen their understanding in these subjects.”
