Singing in the rain: It’s carnival time in Hungerford
IT may have rained on Hungerford’s carnival parade - but the town’s spirits are not easily dampened!
Families lined the procession route to enjoy the annual spectacle, despite a sudden downpour on Saturday, July 19.
One of the organisers, Vicki King, said afterwards: “A big big thank you to Hungerford for turning out to support our annual carnival parade.
“The rain didn’t dampen our spirits.
“And a massive thank you to all our entries this year - you were amazing.”
The Wiltshire Caledonian Pipes and Drum Band led the parade through the town and entries included:
The Royal British Legion; Hungerford Rugby Club; Hungerford Tennis Club; ‘Nick’s Mr Whippy ice cream van’; The Tuesday Club; Hungerford Food Community; Jane Buckle; Tesco; Hungerford Town and Manor; Terry Brooks; Hungerford Nursery School; Michael Kent’s Classic Cars; Hungerford Twinning Association; Smarten Up Hungerford; Hungerford Town Football Juniors; HandyBus; Hungerford Youth and Community Centre; Swings and Smiles; BWD Contractors.
