It’s lambing time on Mazelands Farm in Stanford Dingley
The Breakspear family are half way through their 2024 lambing season, writes Kyra Radley.
On Stanford Dingley’s Mazelands Farm spring has begun as the farm expects around 500 lambs this season.
Becky Breakspear and her family have successful lambing seasons yearly, this spring having 300 ewes to lamb.
They are already half way through with eight sets of triplets already being born, and a further five expected.
“Lots of early mornings and late night checks all done by myself, my mum, dad and brother George,” Ms Breakspear told the Newbury Weekly News.
“Also, our little helper this year Rebekka.”
Rebekka, who will be two in May, is already enjoying helping her family with the lambs.
The farm has multiple different breeds of ewes and lambs including blue texals, charollis and border Leicester.
The family said they are all looking forward to being able to see all the lambs in the fields once they have all arrived.
