Newbury Show returns to Chieveley showground this weekend
Tens of thousands of people are expected to descend on Newbury Showground this weekend for the return of the Newbury Show.
The event, which takes place at Newbury Showground in Chieveley today (Saturday) and tomorrow (Sunday), is one of the largest county shows in the country and is on again after a three-year break.
This year’s show will feature exciting arena displays, activities for all the family and a wide array of food and drink.
It will also showcase the best of farming and rural life in the area.
The show is open from 9am until 6pm today and 9am until 5pm tomorrow.
Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a non-retractable lead at all times.
Displays in the Main Arena will begin at 9am each morning and will culminate with the hot air balloon ascent in the evening. This will be held, weather permitting, at 5.30pm on Saturday and 4.45pm on Sunday.
In the Countryside Arena displays in the lake area begin at 10am, with the display ring activities beginning at 10.30am.
All the usual show favourites, including the Grand Parade of Livestock, cookery theatre, craft and shopping marquee, live music area and food and drink hall will be returning too.
And don’t forget to pop by the education tent to see which schools are displaying this year.
The headline sponsor for this year’s show is Ramsbury Estates.
Newburytoday will be there throughout the weekend bringing you live updates from the show as they happen.
