It's Santa! Newbury Lions Club Christmas Cheers visit Thatcham tonight

Santa was out in Thatcham tonight (Thursday) with help from Newbury Lions Club to raise money for the Christmas Voucher Scheme.

The sleigh made its journey around the roads in Thatcham, meeting very excited children waiting outside their homes.

Newbury Lions will be out with Santa in Newbury on Tuesday 15th December - Thursday 17th December.

Margo Payne, Member of the Lions Club said " 'As we couldn't hold our Fireworks event we knew we needed to do something to increase our funds. We put a project on the Good Exchange to raise £2550 for money for Christmas vouchers to enable families in need in our Community have a bit more at this time of year.

We wanted to do the Santa runs anyway just to bring some normality for the children and we have been delighted in the donations received both online and in person every night. People have been saying how wonderful to have a little bit of normal Christmas magic and have given generously. Santa is having a few nights off but will be in Newbury Tues, Wed. and Thurs night.
