"It's the FA Cup, amazing things happen," says RFC fan Chris Tarrant

TV presenter shows support for Royals ahead of Wembley match

TELEVISION and radio presenter, and Bucklebury resident, Chris Tarrant is optimistic about Reading’s chances in the semi-final against Arsenal on Saturday.

“I was at the Madejski Stadium the night that we beat Bradford City to get into the FA Cup semi-final," he said. “We played really very well and were well worth the 3-0 victory.”

But Chris is also experienced in the highs and lows of the beautiful game.

“I was also there about four years ago for the play-off match against Swansea,” he said.

“That was a terrific day but eventually with a bad result. I hope the same thing dosen’t happen against Arsenal.

“Arsenal are an infinitely better team, they have a lot of great players and are odds-on favouites to win, but it is the FA Cup and amazing things happen.

“Bradford City beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge earlier this season, so it is just possible that Reading could do the unthinkable.”

And like all Reading supporters he can dare to dream: “Reading in the FA Cup final would just be beyond anybody’s wildest expectations but stranger things have happened in the FA Cup before – that’s what makes it such a great competition. ”

You can find out what Chris loves about West Berkshire, his favourite pub, where he likes to walk and fish, and his most memorable catch, in May’s edition of .
