Jack Wills prepares to close as other shops move home in Newbury
One store is closing and four others are on the move, as Newbury town centre gears up for Christmas.
Jack Wills, in Parkway Shopping, has put up 'closing down' signs in its window.
Staff at the store have been told the shop will close its doors for the last time on December 13.
But while one shop may be leaving Parkway, others are moving in.
The school uniform shop is leaving its home of many years in the Kennet Shopping centre and setting up shop in Parkway.
Other stores said to be moving on from the Kennet centre include Shoe Zone and the model shop – the latter has a new home in Bartholomew Street.
Independent home and gift store No 96 also has a new home. It is currently moving stock into Northbrook Street, on the site of the former Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
It was based on the corner of Market Place, next to the Catherine Wheel pub at the entrance to the Kennet Shopping centre.
As previously reported by Newburytoday Søstrene Grene will have its grand opening on November 25 at Parkway Shopping.
This morning (Monday) it is being reported that Joules Group, which has a shop in Parkway Shopping, is to file a notice of intention to appoint administrators.
