Reading Magistrates' Court: Thatcham thief is jailed

A SHOPLIFTER has been jailed for breaching a suspended sentence order.

In the dock at Reading Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 26, was Darren Nicholas Derwin.

The 50-year-old, who lives at Horne Road, Thatcham, admitted stealing £157 worth of spirits from Tesco on London Road, Newbury, on November 1 last year.

The latest offence meant Mr Derwin was in breach of a suspended prison sentence imposed for previous offences of theft and for driving while disqualified in Brimpton.

He was jailed for 18 weeks.
